While ending one era of Scotland County Republican Party political history, on Saturday October 15, 2005 the Scotland
County GOP began a new chapter in what is sure to be a long and prosperous journey.
On the sunny, warm Saturday evening, a large assembled crowd of Party members and Representatives from across the state
gathered to witness the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the permanent 'home' of the Scotland County GOP Headquarters.
As a slight wind kept the flags waving, the Hometown Quartet sang for everyone, before several speakers gave praise for
the new headquarters from a dias situated in front of the new Scotland County GOP home.
Those speakers included District Eight Representative Robin Hayes, Political Director James Rupard, Scotland County GOP
Chairman Hal Culberson, Reverend Charles Brown; Chaplan for the Bennetsville Correctional Institution, Lisa Daves; Vice Chairman
North Carolina GOP, Zann Bunn; Deputy Executive Director of NC Bush Victory '04, & District Eight Chairman David Black.
Congressman Hayes also presented them with a plaque containing a letter from President Bush commemorating the occasion.
The RCGOP would also like to congratulate the Scotland County GOP for their grand achievement... We salute you and
all you are doing for the Grand Old Party!
